December 2006 There are several configs, pics and various outputs from my Soekris net4801-50 box I bought recently. It is connected to ADSL modem, wifi AP and to an ethernet provider. I am running mpd, natd, named, dhcpd, ntpd, inetd, ipfw, bsnmpd, nginx and sshd there. Basically I used "NanoBSD Howto" which is a part of the FreeBSD Documentation Project: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/articles/nanobsd/howto.html There are some interesting hints at phk's home page, e.g. a tool for environment monitoring: http://phk.freebsd.dk/soekris/env4801/ It is available as a port, ports/sysutils/env4801/ . Don't forget to read led(4) man page: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=led Thanks to Soekris for a nice toy: http://www.soekris.com/net4801.htm TODO: find a mini-pci wifi card and replace my dlink ap. 19.05.2016 update. After 10 years of service the box is still working. I upgraded the CF card to 2GB and the whole system to FreeBSD 10.3-stable. 04.11.2020 update. The box is 14 y/o and still running. I recently upgraded it to FreeBSD 12.2-stable. My build host is amd64 so the build process became more tricky. It doesn't do much these days, it is just a small caching dns server. I also run nginx on it.
